A domestic flight, a ferry crossing or the road across the peninsula. Choose the route that fits your arrival, luggage and travel style.

Three ways in

Compare your international arrival and the onward journey together. Schedules, baggage rules and road conditions change: check them for your dates before you book.

By air

Fly into San José, then take a domestic flight to Cóbano. SANSA and Green Airways list the route; arrange the onward car or driver separately.

The final climb

Villa Raya sits at the very top of the mountain. We recommend arranging a 4×4 in advance, or a driver with a suitable vehicle, for the final approach and your local plans.

Free parking is available at the villa.

Arriving

Check-in is after 3:00 PM and your host greets you. Suren and Alina share the final directions through your booking: use those for arrival, and clarify the route before leaving town.

Before you set out

  • Share your flight details with whoever arranges your transport, and allow time for immigration, luggage and delays.
  • Check baggage allowances before paying, particularly with surfboards or large suitcases.
  • Keep the first evening easy: shop on the way, eat near town or arrange a meal at the villa.

Read the full arrival guide in our journal, or explore the Santa Teresa guide for when you’re here.
